Garri is an ethnic group of East Africa that is constantly grouped and cramped into other ethnic groups of the region. The origin of the Garri people is still debated and unclear, but nevertheless the descent is well-known and preserved. The Garri lineage preserved through tribes, sub-tribes and clans are listed below; non of the Garri tribes correlate with Somali tribes, but the lineage is identical to the Gabra (Oromo) tribe of Ethiopia. Prominent scholars who have written essays on East African studies all argue that Garris originally come from Ethiopia. These researches include K.N. Getachew, a Garri from Southern Ethiopia, and Shun Sato who did a study on Garri people at The University of Tsukuba.
…and this makes up The Garri People. This geneology is also found within the Gabra people.
